Welcome to the Blazing Dragons Fan Site!
Blazing Dragons is a cartoon based on a computer game of the same name, created by Monty Python's Terry Jones. When it comes to the Pythons, we have learnt to expect something different and rather special from them, and Blazing Dragons is just that. The show parodies Arthurian legend, telling the story of a group of anthropomorphic dragons living in Castle Camelhot, and fighting against their human enemies.
Blazing Dragons was co-produced by Nelvana and Ellipse, and ran for two series of thirteen episodes each, both of which were shown in the UK on CITV. Series 1 aired in the summer of 1996, and was an instant favourite in our house. It was charming and funny, and had plenty of depth for us to sink our young teeth into. Series 2 began airing in Janurary 1998, which was unexpected and rather exciting, but it turned out to be disappointing due to a mass of unwise changes. CITV apparently realised something was wrong, as they only ran the series up to episode 4b, over eight weeks. It did not resume until the summer of 1999, when they did manage to get through it all.
No matter what became of it in the end, Blazing Dragons was once a brilliant cartoon. If you liked Blazing Dragons, then I hope you'll like this site, which contains contributions from both my brother and me. We both thank you for coming to our little corner of the web. If you have any comments about the site, then please send them our way, and in the meantime, enjoy!
